How does sustainability make a difference?
- Using recycled instead of virgin polyester produces fewer carbon emissions. It also gives plastic bottles a second life keeps them out of oceans and landfills.
- Keeping materials and products in circulation for as long as possible helps eliminate both waste and resource-intensive virgin production.
- Sustainable items require less energy and water to produce than traditional fabrics.
- Items made sustainably can be repurposed indefinitely.
- Workers are given respect and fair treatment with livable wages.
Not so fun fact: Did you know that humans use about 1.2 million plastic bottles per minute, but only 56% are recycled.

Tell me more about the materials.
Our swimwear fabric is made from Italian Carvico ECONYL®. So what does this mean?
ECONYL® is yarn, a 100% regenerated nylon yarn made from pre and post-consumer waste materials such as fishing nets. Instead of being discarded in landfills, these materials are recovered and regenerated by Aquafil through a complex decomposition process and are made into ECONYL®. Unlike traditional yarn, ECONYL® does not use non-renewable fossil raw materials.
